The summer cycling months are coming. We are all looking forward to being on the road again in cycling shorts… and our second Café Coureur establishment in Houffalize in the Ardennes is increasingly taking shape. The hotel in Kerniel will open its doors again from Friday 26 March. In Houffalize we still have to be patient, but this patience will be rewarded! We will give you an update!
This is what happened
The holiday homes were completely stripped! New roofs, new exterior plastering, new plumbing pipes, new electricity,…. provide a complete lift-up. You can already book these holiday homes for 4 or 6 people from the beginning of May via www.lesetables.be.
The exterior of the hotel building also received a thorough check-up: new roof and insulation, solar panels, facade reinserted, ...
The third floor of the hotel was also completely dismantled. The plaster works are currently underway for the three rooms (one of which is a master room) on this floor.
The outdoor works will start next week. There will be a terrace in three parts: an “après-velo” part with high tables, a dining area with 60 seats to enjoy our sporty gastronomy and a lounge area to enjoy afterwards by the fire pits.
We hope to have all this ready by mid-May.
We look forward to welcoming you in the heart of the Ardennes. The first groups have already booked! You are very welcome from the beginning of May!
And in September we organize our first events there. The weekend from 4 to 6 the LXX MTB event and the weekend from 11 to 13 Lumberjack Baraque Fraiture. The first images of Bart DerLokomitiv are extremely promising. He did the reconnaissance, looking for the most beautiful gravel roads. More info on this soon via www.cafecoureur.cc .
From Monday September 26, the day after the World Cup on the road, we will start the lift-up of the ground floor, the first and the second floor. To be 100% the place in the Ardennes by the end of year celebrations “where the race is king and the cyclist is emperor”!
